Why We’ll Be Running in the RunSTRONG 5K
Proceeds from this year’s race will benefit the North Ottawa Community Health System’s (NOCHS) Pediatric Rehabilitation Program. The money raised will help support costs for treatment equipment unique to children and provide scholarships for children with special needs who cannot afford special programming. Medical insurance simply does not cover all the rehabilitation needs of children with sensory processing disorders, genetic disorders or developmental challenges.
The North Ottawa Community Health System’s Pediatric Rehabilitation Program is a broad, general practice but offers specialized treatment in:
• Preventive services
• Diagnosis of new symptoms or problems
• Premature infants through young adults
• Asthma management
• Behavior and development
• Immunization management
• Nutrition and childhood obesity
