Meet Jill Wiersma – Clinic Director for Muskegon
Jill Wiersma PT, DPT is Generation Care Muskegon’s Clinic Director. Even though her role as clinic director started in October of 2017, she has been on the Muskegon Team as a physical therapist since January 2016.
Fun fact: she even spent one of her rotations while in physical therapy school at the Muskegon Generation Care for 8 weeks!
Jill was born and raised in Metro Detroit and holds her undergraduate and Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree’s from Oakland University. She moved to the shoreline shortly after graduation to start her job here in Muskegon.
She is currently pursuing her CMPT (Certified Manual Physical Therapist) continuing education certificate through the NAIOMT (The North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy) program in hopes of gaining her COMT (Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy) in the future.
If you have not already guessed, she enjoys working with all forms of orthopedic patients – neck, back, shoulders, hips, knees, etc that are in any walk of life. She also has a passion for fitness, wellness, and pilates which she incorporates into treatment. She also loves utilizing the pool with her patients in Muskegon to allow for unloading of the joints and spine and to promote functional movements. On the weekends, she enjoys being outdoors, hiking, traveling/adventuring and spending time at the beach with her husband, family, and friends.
