Meet Dajsha and Riley!
Since it’s National Youth Sports Week, let us introduce you to two incredible young athletes from the Grand Rapids Performance Center! Meet Dajsha Avery and Riley Homer!
Dajsha is a shotputter attending GVSU that had been dealing with intense shoulder pain. Performance Center Physical Therapist, Leonard Van Gelder coordinated closely with her healthcare providers in order to return her to competition.
“The Performance Center has been an amazing experience! They explain everything and evaluate you really thoroughly! The team there is always positive and encouraging – I love it! They want you to meet your goals as much as you do!” – Dajsha
Riley has been working with Performance Center PTs, Jeff Rigley, and Lucas Briggs. A shoulder impingement and left knee pain were holding her back from playing volleyball at a national level.
“After only a few sessions at the Performance Center, I noticed a huge difference in my game. I was experiencing pain in my shoulder and my knees. Both Lucas and Jeff helped me get rid of my pain by showing me changes I needed to make in my training, as well as giving me exercises to do at home. I am back to playing the sport I love again at a national level.” – Riley
If you are an athlete struggling with an injury, please give us a call at the Grand Rapids Performance Center. Our trained and experienced therapists can help get you back in the game!
