GROUP EXERCISE

With classes available in the pool or on land, you can keep your fitness momentum going in a group setting. (MySTEPs Gym membership not required to attend Group Classes)

Muskegon Location Group Classes

Pricing:

1 class per week – $25/month (includes Hope Floats and RunSTRONG)

2 classes per week – $55/month (includes Gentle Joint Fit and Gentle Joint Move)

Parkinson’s Aqua Group – $6 per class – Buy 9 classes and the 10th class is FREE

Aquatic Classes

Parkinson’s Aqua Group

A pool class, open to people with Parkinson’s Disease or for those who are neurologically impaired.

Gentle Joint Move

This is a gentle paced class that addresses the whole body and focuses on achieving full range of motion with minimal impact through the joints. This class includes pain-free stretching, balance training and strengthening in the warm pool environment. This is a therapist led class designed for those with arthritis, fibromyalgia, joint stiffness, balance deficits, and mobility restrictions. Class is limited to 10 participants.

Gentle Joint Fit

This is a moderately paced class that addresses the whole body with minimal impact through the joints. This class includes stretching, strength building, core stabilization, cardiovascular training, and high level balance training in the warm pool environment. This is a therapist led class designed for those who would like to get in better shape but struggle to do so on land due to joint pain. Class is limited to 10 participants.

Hope Floats

This program focuses on the unique physical needs of the cancer survivor, combating fatigue – fighting strategies and fun!

LAND BASED CLASSES

RunSTRONG

This class is geared specifically for runners that focuses on improving muscular endurance, running form, core and glute stability, and performance enhancement. This class will take runners through specific exercises that target underutilized muscles necessary for peak running performance and injury prevention. Classes are held on Monday and Thursday nights at 6 PM. Contact Melanie Danklefsen for more information!

Aquatic Classes

Gentle Joint Aquacise

This is a therapist led class designed to help those with arthritis, fibromyalgia, joint stiffness, or for those who want a gentle paced class.

Parkinson’s Pool Class

Focus, but not limited to those with Parkinson’s disease. All exercises are shown to benefit people with PD, focusing on large and fine motor skills, balance, light cardio, coordination, voice/dictation, and posture. Exercises are done in chest- deep, warm water- no swimming required.

LAND BASED CLASSES

BalanceSTRONG

Do you have a fear of falling? This class will significantly reduce your fall risk by working on improving your posture, reactive strategies, and increase your strength and range of motion, in a safe environment. Barre: Combining Pilates, ballet, yoga, and dance to ultimately sculpt and stretch your entire body.

Beginner Yoga

For those who are newer to yoga, wanting a basic flow class. This class focuses on the foundation and fundamentals of yoga. We will move with your breath while improving strength, balance, and overall well-being. Each class will include a guided meditation to really capture your mind/body connection.

Dance Fitness

Dance your way to health! This class combines fundamentals of various types of dance including ballet, hip-hop, salsa, and ballroom. This class will improve your body awareness, while also improving posture, muscle tone, balance, coordination, and flexibility.

Mat Pilates

Class includes comprehensive core and traditional Pilates concepts: strength, flexibility, and training strategies.

RunSTRONG

A class geared specifically for runners that focuses on improving muscular endurance, running form, core and glute stability, and performance enhancement. This class will take runners through specific exercises that target underutilized muscles necessary for peak running performance and injury prevention. With this class, you have the option to sign up for 1 or 2 days a week held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 pm.

Grand Rapids Location Group Classes

Pricing:

1 class per week – $35/month or $10 per class to drop-in

RunSTRONG

A class geared specifically for runners that focuses on improving muscular endurance, running form, core and glute stability, and performance enhancement. This class will take runners through specific exercises that target underutilized muscles necessary for peak running performance and injury prevention. Held every Monday at 6:30 PM at our Grand Rapids location and taught by Doctor of Physical Therapy, Scott McKeel.

Eastern Flow

Eastern Flow is a brand new group class beginning on Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 6-7PM at our Grand Rapids location. This class is open to all ages and will be held every Tuesday. The class incorporates tai chi, kung fu, yoga, movement, and science! Taught by Doctor of Physical Therapy, Leonard Van Gelder. Come find what moves you and learn more about how movement can improve your life!
