Grason’s Story – Guest Post by Amanda Collis
Grason has been working with Generation Care Occupational Therapist, Lauren Geers, MOTR/L, at our Pediatric Rehabilitation Facility in partnership with North Ottawa. Grason’s mom, Amanda, shared this post with us about her experience.
“We heard about Generation Care about seven years ago from our daughter’s Developmental Pediatrician. There were concerns that Grason has Sensory Integration Disorder. Because of the excellent experience we have had with our daughter, we asked for a referral to Occupational Therapy at Generation Care.
Grason has sessions with Lauren once per week and is always eager to go “play”! His balance and self-regulation have greatly improved since starting weekly sessions. The sessions have also taught me to see the signs that he’s overstimulated and provided me with strategies to keep him regulated.
Generation Care is a fantastic facility! Everyone is kind and helpful. The therapists are understanding, informative, patient and caring.”
